Swine Flu Information: Latest update

32 Australian's have tested positive to the deadly Swine Flu virus outbreak which has struck worldwide. Recently 2 people from a cruise ship were confirmed to be struck down by the virus, whilst 50 other passengers are awating test results. 130 people from the Pacific Dawn Cruise Ship indicated that they felt flu like symptons or had been in contact with someone who had felt sick whilst on board. The Swine Flu which originated overseas, has hit Australian shores. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the best way to prevent Swine Flu is through adequate hand washing with soap and water; followed by using a certified hand sanitiser as well as an N95 face mask.

WHO Raises Pandemic Alert to 5
With the situation escalating in at least 9 countries around the world, this morning the WHO has raised the pandemic alert to Level 5.
We remind everybody to protect themselves with regular hand washing, hand disinfectant and wearing hygienic masks. See the post from April 28th for more information on how to protect yourself.

Swine Flu Outbreak Alert

With confirmed reports of human infection of Swine Flu in Mexico and the United States, we strongly urge the active prevention of further transmissions. Regular hand washing, disinfection, gargling in addition to wearing a mask is proven to greatly reduce the spread of both seasonal and pandemic influenza outbreaks.
